At the time, I only remember thinking that it was less high-minded and more brash compared to Vivid and Time's Up, but honestly, it's been so long since I've listened to it that I can't really remember why it never hit home with me. I must say though, I think ur idea of the Stain album. A LOT of fans I talk 2 (myself included) say they LOVED it. I think it was more ferocious and angry than the first two and more personal. I think it reflected the band's state @ the time. I listened to it nearly every day for 8 years while living in Germany.Just my opinion. Check it out again. Peace and Love. Great article/review. Out of curiosity, I wonder if you've ever re-visited "Stain". I also dismissed the album when it came out years ago.
