Welcome to Sodapop Journal

Sodapop Journal

First of all, welcome. Sodapop Journal is a long-in-the-works passion project for those of us who created it, and it’s truly a joy to finally be able to share it with the world.

What is this?

Why, thanks for asking! Sodapop Journal (or “SPJ” for those who favor brevity) is a site about the things we love. Movies, music, books, TV, games, comics, obscure pop culture remnants from the Reagan administration… it’s all fair game. What sets us apart from every other entertainment site out there is that we’re not here to bash things; we’re here to celebrate. The sheer amount of snark out there is enough to kill one’s enthusiasm for practically anything in the pop culture realm, and we want to provide an alternative for that. That’s not to say that we’ll sugarcoat things that suck, it’s just that we won’t even bother with those things. We doubt you’re interested in the latest exploits of Flo Rida, and neither are we. And trust us, if Paul Thomas Anderson or James Cameron turns out something terrible, we’ll make our opinions known, but we’re not going to drag our heroes through the mud. We keep it CLASSY here, people.

Who are you?

First and foremost, we’re fans of entertainment and pop culture. We’re also a group of friends who love writing about their favorite things and want to share it with the rest of you. And we want you in on the action, too. We look forward to some interesting discussion about what we cover here and hope to make this a place where people can come together to chat about the things they’re passionate about. And unlike some sites, we’ll talk back. We want to get to know you.

Where are you?

Set your dial to sodapopjournal.com and let the festivities commence! You’ll be able to hook up with us at places like Facebook and Twitter for updates and so on, but have no doubt this is where it’s happenin’. Feel free to look around, get in on the conversation and spread the word. And be sure to come by often because if you like what you see now, we’re just getting started!

Thanks! Sodapop Journal is the greatest!

No, thank you!

Hey Craig! So glad to see you on the site. You can surely expect to find amazing things here. Also, to answer your question, it is COKE. “Soda” is acceptable I suppose, but “pop” is just insane.

Oh, Scott. You’re such a Georgian. “Coke,” indeed.
