Clash of the Titans Remake Set to Shoot

Warner Bros. announced today that the much-talked-about remake of Clash of the Titans is beginning production next week near London with Louis Letellier (The Incredible Hulk) at the helm. Starring upcoming Terminator: Salvation star Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes, the remake of the 1981 film looks to be an effects-filled extravaganza, with a veritable who’s who of Hollywood effects and production artists, including talent from The Dark Knight, The Incredible Hulk, Terminator: Salvation and Gladiator.

While remakes are a tricky thing these days (and some are far less impressive than their aged counterparts), it stands to reason that Clash of the Titans is one of those films that could stand a more visually sophisticated update. What do you think? Will this be another Hollywood retread or be a welcome improvement over the original?
